Companion Trees
About The Tree
In addition to the 65 foot tree coming from Wyoming, 75 smaller “companion trees” will be delivered to the United States Capitol complex. These trees, ranging in height from 6-feet to as tall as 30-feet, represent a variety of species found throughout the Cowboy State. Wyoming's companion trees are being provided especially for the Capitol by the State Forester.
The companion trees will be displayed in several federal government sites such as the Wyoming Congressional Delegation offices, United States Senate and House of Representative offices. Trees will be delivered in late November and will also be featured at the Department of Agriculture, Department of the Interior and even the Senate Dining Room.
The Capitol Christmas 2010 companion trees will be decorated with handcrafted ornaments made by Wyomingites.
